September 2005 Member of the Month

Jessica Lanning

Jessica Lanning serves on the member services committee, seeking to develop and serve the NAWBO-SF membership by attracting high-quality members and promoting strong programming. Jessica has recruited many new members this year, loves to connect members together, and is very active in repositioning the Mastermind program for 2006. She aspires to make NAWBO-SF an invaluable part of any woman-owned business.

As a certified mortgage consultant, Jessica assists her clients in obtaining and managing financing for their residential and investment real estate in the Bay Area and California. Her favorite niche is educating clients on how to use their home equity to grow real wealth, often increasing their retirement assets by $1M or more, paying off their mortgages sooner than expected, and keeping their assets as liquid and safe to weather any financial storm.

Jessica began her independent mortgage planning business nearly ten years ago, a career change from practicing law. She is a member of the National Association of Mortgage Brokers (NAMB) and the California Association of Mortgage Brokers (CAMB). Jessica is the only mortgage professional in California to complete both of NAMB's rigorous certification programs, earning the Certified Mortgage Consultant (CMC) and Certified Residential Mortgage Specialist (CRMS) designations. She is an approved continuing education provider for the national Certified Financial Planning Board and the California Department of Insurance. Since 2002, Jessica has been recognized as a top producer.

Jessica is married to Neil Olson, an attorney and professional coach. They have two children-Logan (3) and Hannah Jane (1), and a sweet yellow Labrador retriever they call Mattie-the-Dog. They live and work in San Francisco.

Jessica enjoys running and real estate investing. She is also the founder of Moms Talk, a women's development group for mothers who are balancing families and careers. She is a member of the Class of 2006 of Leadership San Francisco.
